Gold smuggling case: India seeks permission to record statement of UAE consulate attaché
New Delhi: India has sought permission to record the statement of the attaché at the UAE consulate in Thiruvananthapuram in connection with the gold smuggling case. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has sent a letter to the UAE embassy in this regard.
In the letter sent on Wednesday, India has sought a meeting with the diplomat in charge of the consulate.
The MEA pointed that the meeting will be to seek information regarding the parcel that was addressed to the consulate. India is yet to receive a response from the UAE Embassy.
