New Delhi: In line with the Supreme Court order on higher provident fund pensions, the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made a provision in its member’s portal for retired employees to apply for higher pension.
The portal link contains the application form for validation of option for those employees whose applications were rejected earlier. Only those employees who had retired before September 1, 2014 are eligible to apply for the pension. They can upload their applications till March 3.
The EPFO’s initial order regarding the implementation of the apex court’s verdict, dated November 4, 2022, was issued on December 29, 2022.
Meanwhile, an EPFO order, stating to provide option of higher pension to those whose applications were rejected earlier, was released on Thursday. The order is based on the RC Gupta case vs Regional Provident Fund case (2016).
In the portal, there is an option stating “In compliance with the direction contained in the para 44 (ix) of the judgement (for case of retirement prior to 01.09.2014), online facility for filing application for validation of option is available at Unified portal member interface.”
Employees can click there and submit their applications.
