Vadakara (Kozhikode): The CCTV visuals of a man rescuing another person who nearly fell down from the first floor of a building has gone viral on the social media. Keezhal native Thayyil Meethal Babu saved a man who felt dizzy and fell down from the first floor of Kerala Bank Vadakara Edodi branch the other day.
The incident took place on Thursday by 9.30 in the morning. A daily wage worker, Babu arrived at the bank to pay welfare fund instalment. Aroor native Binu also was waiting at the bank. When they were leaning against the parapet in the corridor of the bank, Binu felt dizzy and fell backwards.
But Babu had presence of mind to get hold on Binu’s legs on seeing him falling downwards. Babu managed to hold on to his legs tightly till others rushed to help. With the help of other people, Binu was rescued.
The incident was captured on the CCTV camera. As it was widely circulated on the social media, Babu became popular. He was honoured at the LDF Memunda area convention. He was appreciated for acting with presence of mind and saving a life.
