Veliyannur: In a brave incident, a young man rescued a two-and-a-half-year-old child who fell into a 30-feet-deep well breaking the net spread at the well mouth. The dauntless man was identified as Sharan K Mohan. He rescued his neighbours Anish and Reshmi’s daughter Arya.
The child fell into the well the other day evening. At the time of incident, only Reshmi and her mother-in-law were at home. Hearing the sound, Reshmi ran to the well and found her daughter hanging to the pipe connected to a pump. Well had 15-feet water.
Hearing the cry of Reshmi, neighbour Sharan reached the scene and got down to the well hanging on a rope. Then, he clung to the rope holding Arya in his one hand. Meanwhile, locals assembled at the spot and dropped down a ladder for the duo to climb up.
Arya was soon taken to hospital in Koothattukulam. She is now back at home safe.
Sharan is a second year graduate student at Co-Operative college, Thodupuzha.
