Women in film industry to have 'Lady Black Cats'
Kochi: All Kerala MACTA Federation Fighters Union will appoint female black cats for the protection of women in the film industry.
Heroines will be accompanied by trained women black cats who are experts in martial arts. They will be appointed as drivers of the vehicles for the transportation of actresses and other female artistes.
The association aims to form a security chain of women who are well-trained in martial arts. Presently, 100 women are ready for the service. The women black cats will be deployed as per the demand of the women in the industry.
“We have decided to launch the service of women black cats after the actress attack case,” said MACTA Federation General Secretary Baiju Kottarakkara.
The black cats will be trained in kalari, judo or karate. They also need to have experience in driving. They will accompany the women artistes in their journey from home to shooting location. Security of black cats will be given for the actresses while staying at hotels.
Women who hold black belt in karate are qualified to be appointed in this wing of security. Fights union will provide six-month long training for the selected.
Fighters Association general secretary R Shankar and female stunt choreographer Asha David are taking initiative of the new service.
Women in 18 to 40 age group are preferred for the job.
