Malappuram: With the blessing of Pulikkal natives and good-hearted people, wheel-chair bound couple Sahad and Jaseela entered wedlock here on Saturday. Sahad Muhammad has been suffering from physical disability from birth. Jaseela has turned wheel-chair bound due to polio at the age of 2.
Jaseela is the daughter of Perinthalmanna natives late Asainu and late Nafeesa. Sahad is son of Manjery natives Abdullah and Raihanath. The wedding ceremony was held on the courtyard of Ability Foundation for the Disabled in Pulikkal here.
Sahad had vowed that he will marry a girl who is differently-abled like him.
A year ago, Ability Foundation conducted ‘Porutham’, a matrimonial event in Tirur for finding suitable partners for differently-abled people. This event led to the marriage.
Jaseela has been struggling with her life since childhood. She was only one year old when her father passed away. She got partially paralysed due to polio at the age of 2. When she was 5 years old, her mother breathed her last.
Jaseela is working as a fashion designer at Ability Production Centre. Sahad who is studying BA has been working in the computer section of the Ability centre.
The wedding ceremony was jointly organized by Ability Foundation and Kozhikode-based Nanma Care Foundation.
Nasar Manu, a person who attended the function sponsored a house for the couple. Dr Abdul Ahad Madani officiated the wedding ceremony.
