This tribal school in Vadakkancherry is 'Hi-Tech' in all sense
Vadakkancherry: Students of government tribal school, Kakkinikkadu are no longer afraid of snakes. The snakes have disappeared from the premises after the introduction of peacocks in the school compound. The principal of the school told Mathrubhumi that snakes were a common sight in the classrooms until a decade back. Today 74 students are studying in this LP school, including tribal students.
Now monkeys are the only problem for the students. They were lured to the school by Pappaya trees in the compound. As a result, all the papaya trees have been cut down. Also the school and its premises are regularly cleaned by various groups, led by a former student and Panchayat permanent committee chairman VG Suresh.
Even though the sweeper post is vacant, teachers have arranged for an alternative. The school is 'hi-tech’ in all sense of the word. A school bus was donated by Ex MP PK Biju. A class room has been converted into a computer lab.
The school principal credits the support from the parents, locals and the politicians for the development of school's infrastructure.
