This is friendship: Batch mates locate struggling friend, build her a house
Kodungallur: When the 1992-1994 pre-degree batch students of Pulloott K.K.T.M college noticed that Jessy Baiju, one of their batch mates, was not attending the alumni meets, they decided to find out what had happened.
Searches led them to Thanisserry in Mala and Jessy. But the once beloved student and class mate of many was struggling make ends meet. She did not even have a house to safely stay in.
The friends took to Whatsapp and other social media to spread the message to other alumni. Within a few days, funds started pouring in to build a house for Jessy. The construction of a new house started five months ago at the 3.5 cents of land where Jessy’s old house was located.
A beautiful house in 700 square feet with three bedrooms was built at a cost of 7.5 lakhs. The key was handed over to Jessy by MLA V. R. Suni Kumar in the presence of her former principal Dr Devaki Nandan and batch mates.
College principal Ullas, E.S. Sabu, Mujeeb Rahman, K. P. Sadasivan and P. P. Sreejith were among those present.
