Thanks to Bobby, the 2 children wrote SSLC exams
Ranni: In a kind gesture, a panchayat member took the two students who were kept under observation for suspected coronavirus to the examination centre for the SSLC exam. The children were tensed as no health officials or other authorities reached their place to take them to school but for the kind help of Ranni Pazhavangadi panchayat member Bobby Abraham.
Bobby sent his children, who too have to write the SSLC exam in another school through his brother, and took the 2 children in his car. The students were neighbours of the infected persons. The family members of the 2 children were strictly directed by the health officials to maintain home isolation.
As the 2 students were not directly involved with the infected persons, there was no hassle in writing the exams. The district administration informed that all arrangements will be put in place at the exam centre and the family have to pick up and drop the students only in cars.
As the family demanded a pickup vehicle, the health department declined to oblige to their request. Immediately they contacted the panchayat member who inturn contacted the health department officials for a vehicle as the exam centre was 5 kilometers away. The officials backtracked saying no vehicle was available. No vehicles of the panchayats too were available.
Though the family tried to hire a private vehicle or a taxi, due to fear of coronavirus, none were ready. As time was running out, Bobby decided to take the children in his car and asked his brother to take his own children to the school.
The school authorities were waiting eagerly to receive the girls and have arranged special rooms. The health officials too were present and Bobby dropped the students at home after exam. The children will be picked up and dropped under the supervision of the panchayat for the remaining exams.
