Teacher turns living room into mini classroom for online classes
Perumanna (Kozhikode): On seeing the drawing room in Arjuna teacher's house, people will be confused if it is a classroom. One can see English and Malayalam alphabets on walls, human structure on mirror, birds and animal figures on TV stand, geometrical shapes close to wash basin, colourful flowers on coffee table.
Arjuna teacher is working at the AMLP School at Arathilparambu in Perumanna. Her residence in Poovattuparamba has been converted into a mini classroom for online classes. She shoots classes at the drawing room and sends it to the parents of students through WhatsApp.
The teacher thought of developing a classroom at home to make classes interesting for LKG students.
"The LKG students begin to learn without even knowing what is a classroom. So, it was difficult to introduce them to online classes. But after I showed the pictures and figures through videos, they are more interested in classes," she said.
Arjuna had worked as teacher in another school earlier. She was staying home after childbirth when Arathilparamba school authorities requested her to conduct online classes. Arjuna is married to Vipin, a driver, and the couple has a 10-month-old son named Dhanvin Krishna.
