Teacher saves 3 kids from drowning
Malappuram: School teacher Latha (32) turned a star at Peruvallur after she took an adventurous mission to save three drowning children from a pond. She is working at Peruvallur Al Falah Islamic EM School.
The children were identified as Resla (7), Sajna Sheri (5) and Safareena (6).
The incident took place around 12 pm on Monday at the pond near the school. Latha was on the way to her house from her husband’s residence at Idimuzhikkal. When she arrived at her house, she heard a faint cry for help and rushed to the pond. Finding three children drowning in the waters, she jumped into the pond.
It was a tough task for the teacher to swim with the three children. But she was successful to save them with her determination. Vijeesh, a neighbour also arrived on the spot and helped Latha to take out the children from the waters.
The three girls planned to take a bath in the canal close to the pond. But finding less water in the canal, they arrived at the pond without informing their parents. At first, the two children entered into the deep water and was trapped. Seeing this the third child jumped into the pond to save them. But she was also trapped in the deep waters as she did not know swimming.
