Teacher makes TV to assure online classes for Adivasi students in Idukki
Thodupuzha: Ajay, a school teacher turned a saviour for students at Kanhikuzhi Palaplavu tribal colony in Idukki. The students were worried about missing online classes as they did not have television or mobile phone at home or in their neighbourhood. But the school teacher, who was a rank holder in electrical engineering, developed a television set for the poor children. Ajay also purchased a Dish TV and connected it with the TV.
The students were excited when they watched the classes for the first time on television.
Cheruthoni native B Ajay is working as a teacher at the Electronics department of SNDP Vocational Higher Secondary School, Kanjeetukara in Pathanamthitta. As the regular classes in school has not started, Ajay stays at his home here.
When he came to know about the Adivasi students who lack the facility to attend the online classes, he brushed up his skills as an engineer and made a television set.
Over 35 students are using this television to continue their studies. On the first day, Ajay helped the children and their parents to clear their doubts on the virtual classes.
Ajay is taking the online classes for second-year electronics stream students in the state.
