Students plant 800 trees on school compound in bid to fight global warming
Cherthala: The higher secondary students of Sree Narayana Memorial Government Higher Secondary School are doing their part to prevent global warming. They have planted tree saplings on their school compound and are maintaining it properly.
A total of 800 tree saplings belonging to 70 varieties are planted in the 10-cent plot. The saplings were distributed by a private IT company as part of their anniversary celebrations.
School principal L Ambika Devi coordinated the activities. Municipal chariman V T Joseph inaugurated the event and Education Standing Committee chairman B Bhasi and D Jyothish attended.
