Soon, murals to adorn the walls of Guruvayur temple
Guruvayur: The walls of Guruvayur temple has turned a canvas for mural painting.
While the artists from Guruvayur specialised in mural painting are exhibiting their skill on the walls of the sreekovil (sanctum sanctorum), the outer walls are handled by students belonging to a new generation.
The wall on the eastern side of the temple will soon feature Rugmini Kalyanam, Venugopalam, Parthasarathy, Radhamadhvam, Krishna and Vasudeva, Venna Kannan and Krishna and Radha. The top portion will demonstrate elephants in different apperances.
Envisioned by Guruvayur Devaswom's Institute of Mural Painting Principal K U Krishnakumar and senior instructor M Nalinbabau, students Santhosh Mavoor, Sudarshan, Sooraj Rajan, Athira, Karthik, Raghuram, Devan Thattanpalli and Siva are engaged in the work.
Murals will also be created on the wall on the northern side and it will be dedicated after the Nethronmeelanam ritual.
