Sheena gives free haircuts to kids waiting for school reopening
Cherpu: Sheena Chandran, a former panchayat president and a beautician here has been giving free haircuts to nearly 500 girls who are all set to go to the school.
She started the haircut service in her beauty parlour ‘Nakshathra’ located near Palakkal church by giving free haircuts to 10 children. Sheena is planning to finish the haircuts by following the Covid protocol before the school reopening.
She is providing the service for girls from smaller ones in Anganwadi to 18-year-old. Tokens marked with the date and time of haircut are being distributed via Anganwadi teachers.
The haircut for each child will be completed in around half an hour. The service will be provided till noon on normal days and round the clock on Sundays.
Amid the pandemic outbreak, Sheena's beauty parlour remained closed for many days. Earlier, some beauticians were working in the beauty parlour. But at present Sheena does all the haircuts herself.
