Setting an example these children make and distribute soap solution to fight coronavirus
Vadakkencherry: When Santhosh Arakkal’s children told him that they should make soap solution and distribute it to different households, he did not take them seriously. He joked to them that he would give all the ingredients required for the solution if they pay him. But the children took it seriously.
The four children handed over all their earnings to father and bought the items required for making the solution. Using this, they made 170 bottles of soap solution. Each bottle was 100 ml each. The solution was prepared by Ronald (studying in Class 8), John Paul (Class 5), Jennifer and Yona (studying in class 3 and UKG respectively). They were guided by their mother Lali.
One bottle of soap solution can be diluted in half litre of water and used. Only two drops are required for single use. Although they wanted to distribute it to the households directly, they couldn't step out of their homes due to the lockdown. Instead they have decided to give it to panchayat president Anitha Paulson. Santhosh Arakkal has been running a shop named ‘Swadeshi Agros’ for the last 10 years near Vadakkencherry bus stand.
The children make soaps, soap powder, milk powder and distributes it to their friends and teachers. The money with which they bought the ingredients was what had been left of their ‘income’. They have also bought new bags for students using their savings.
