Rs 10 crore renovation works in progress at T’puram Medical College OP section
Thiruvananthapuram: As part of Aardram mission, the renovation works of the OP section in the Medical College is progressing in order to make it more patient-friendly. The renovation works, taken up at a cost of Rs 10 crore, are progressing as directed by health minister KK Shailaja. As the first phase, the mother and child section in SAT hospital was made patient-friendly.
In the initial stage, renovation the of basic amenities and painting in the walls are progressing. As part of eliminating the queue system, a new scheme, which allows the patients to register through online and mobile app, will be implemented. Chairs for relaxing, television to enjoy health and educational programmes, drinking water, special facilities for differently abled people, and air conditioning of checkup rooms are being arranged.
Nodal officer Dr. Santhosh Kumar said that the works in medical college is an attempt to redefine the conventional concepts of a hospital. For creating a pleasant atmosphere, they are making thought-provoking paintings and art works in each department to suit the meaning of it. About 20 artists headed by Dr. Ajith Kumar G, who is a winner of Kerala Sahitya Academy Award and a renowned artist, are preparing the paintings.
