PTA distributes red lady papaya cultivated during lockdown to students during Onam
Ernakulam: The red lady papaya variant cultivated in Pazhamthottam Government Higher Secondary school during lockdown period has been distributed to the students. The school PTA started cultivating red lady papaya to serve it as a dish along with the mid-day meal for students.
The parents took care of the papaya plants even when schools were not opened during the lockdown period. The parents and teachers decided to distribute it to the families of students during Onam as there were many papayas from the plants.
School PTA planted 40 papaya plants which were purchased in January. The plants were watered regularly and protected during the summer season. This turned out to be useful for the students during Onam festival.
The papayas were distributed under the leadership of PTA president Subhash Chandran, Father KM Eldo and AA Pradeep.
