Kodungallur: A youth took out and rescued the kittens from a pregnant cat that lost its life in an accident. The incident happened on Saturday at 11.30 pm near Kodungallur. Mathilakam native Hari rescued the kitten from death even before they were given birth.
Hari is a Forest Department approved snake catcher. He found the cat lying dead after a vehicle ran over it while returning from Pulloot. He stopped his vehicle and shifted the cat from the road in order stop other vehicles from running over it. However, he realized that there was movement inside the stomach when he lifted the cat.
He immediately bought a blade from a store with the help of his friend SN Puram Deepan and carefully cut the cat's stomach and rescued the kittens.
He cleaned the kittens and took them to his home after covering them in a piece of cloth. He also buried the cat that died in the accident.
