Prasanth joins Girija’s voiceless world to live happily ever after
Kozhikode: Palakkad native Prasanth decided to be that voice in Girija’s life that has been absent till now.
In a closely knit function, Prasanth tied knot with Girija, an inmate of the Mahila Mandir in Malaparamba here.
Girija has been staying at the Mahila Mandir since 1998. Kondotty police had brought her to the centre.
She bought 10 sovereigns of gold from the hard earned money from stitching clothes.
Rs 1 lakh was allotted by the Child and Women welfare department for the wedding ceremony.
Malabar Golds, Sunija Garments near NGO Quarters where Girija had been working and Manager of Thrissur SBI branch Sankar Ram presented the newly-wed couple with gifts.
This was the fourth wedding to take place in Mahila Mandir in past two years.
Kozhikode Mayor Dr. Beena Philip, councillors Fenisha, Varun Baskar, former councillors Bijulal, Women and Child development officer Aneeta S Lin and Child rights Commission member Babitha attended the wedding.
