Police stations soon to have child-friendly rooms
Taliparamba: A facelift has been started to change the public outlook of police system. They have already provided facilities for women and elderly people, and also the complainants. Now they are planning to give special consideration for children. One of the special juvenile police stations located in Taliparamba, has started to decorate a room in the station with paintings on wall and toys.
The child-friendly room has the snake and ladder models, cut outs of color pencils, and other playing objects. The room is designed as the number of complaints related to children is on a rise, said DySP K. V. Venugopal.
Police in civil dress also will be present in the station for help. This will create an atmosphere that will allow the complainants under 18 years to report their complaints to the police without fear. The child-friendly rooms are built in the stations to eliminate the fear of police and the police station.
