Palakkad man unaware of winning, carried around his 'luck' in bag for one week
Kollengode (Palakkad): Rajesh, a door-to-door textile seller, had forgotten about the lottery ticket he bought from Pallavur. He carried around the ticket for one week unaware of the fortune waiting for him.
Rajesh came to know that he has won first prize for the ticket worth Rs 65 lakh only when his father took out the ticket from his bag after a week of the announcement of result.
The victory added more sweetness to his life at a time when his marriage was fixed with Manju, a Puthussery native.
Pallassana native Rajesh (27) won the first prize for the ticket number WW 730258 of Win Win lottery. Result of the tickets were announced on September 9. However, Rajesh hadn’t checked the results.
The ticket lied unnoticed in his bag for a week as the zip of bag was damaged. Rajesh’s father Manikandan took the bag for repairing the zip and found the ticket. He first rebuked the son for leaving lottery ticket carelessly and for not checking the result. Manikandan then checked the result and found that they won first prize for the ticket.
Rajesh who was surprised by the unexpected fortune said he wants to marry off his sister with this money.
