Painting made of fingerprints of 15 lakh doctors gets Guinness book entry
Kannur: A huge painting made of fingerprints from 15 lakh doctors and medical students across the country has just got an entry to the Guinness Book of World Records.
The brain behind the world’s largest fingerprint painting, titled the ‘Ray of Hope’, is Dr Naveen Koval, Assistant Professor of Paediatrics at Kannur Medical College. The painting was put together by students of KMC.
The painting was conceived as an expression of protest against increasing incidents of violence against doctors. Fifteen lakh finger impressions of doctors and medical students were collected over four months and made into a 469.75-sq m painting.
The painting was unveiled at Thiruvananthapuram SMCI Medical College on September 2016. The cost of the initiative was around Rs 1 lakh.
