On wedding day, Prajosh donates land for Anganwadi
Malappuram: The wedding of Prajosh, a native of Valavannur here, turned into a celebration for children in the village. The young man became a role model for all on his wedding day by donating land for an Anganwadi which was about to close due to limited infrastructure.
Prajosh tied the knot with Varsha, a native of Mannur in Palakkad on Monday. On the occasion of their wedding, the couple donated 2.5 cent of land to an Anganwadi at Karandupetti which is situated in the 7th ward of Valavannur panchayat.
Prajosh and his bride handed over the documents of the land to the panchayat representatives as a noble act on the special occasion.
Prajosh is the son of CPM Valavannur local committee member Veliyottu Premkumar and Anitha. Prajosh is serving as DYFI Valavannur region joint secretary.
Though Prajosh’s family wanted to have a grand celebration on his wedding day, they were forced to conduct it as a low-key ceremony amid the lockdown. Only family members attended the wedding.
Hence, Prajosh, a chartered accountant by profession and his family, decided to do something good for society. While thinking about it, they noticed the Anganwadi which is on the verge of closure due to poor infrastructure.
The Anganwadi has been operated inside a small room in a rented building for 14 years. The social justice department authority has taken action to close it many times.
Valavannur grama panchayat vice president AK Mujeeb Rahman and opposition leader PC Kabeer Babu received the documents of the land from the couple.
The couple also donated Rs 50,000 to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. CPM district secretariat member VP Sakhariya received the fund for CMDRF.
