NRI boy enters Record Books by drawing Modi’s portrait in shortest time
Dubai: Saran Sasikumar started painting to overcome the boredom caused after the shutdown of almost all outdoor activities due to Covid pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. Little did he know that his hobby would fetch him records one day!
Saran, a Class 9 student of Dubai New Model Indian School, has entered the India and Asia Book of Records with his creation of the portrait of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in the shortest time.
His paintings also include Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, various movie actors and sports personalities.
Saran completed over 70 portraits in the first five months of the pandemic and lockdown.
He trains in painting under Krishnanand.
Saran’s family include father Mavelikkara native Sasikumar, who owns a business in Dubai, mother Bindhu and brother Sarath.
