Nadavayal to welcome German students to learn culture of Wayanad
Kalpetta: A group of German students will arrive at Nadavayal on October 29 to learn the culture and history of Wayanad. The team consisting of 12 girls and 4 boys will be the guests of St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, said the school authorities in a press conference.
The foreign students will visit Wayanad as part of the German Exchange programme organized in the school. They will stay at Nadavayal for two weeks, and will visit the historic places and tourist spots in Wayanad. The tribal culture and lifestyle, education system, language diversities, rituals and customs, religious harmony and culture of the district will be the subject of study for the team.
A team of 10 students and 2 teachers od Nadavayal had visited Germany last April in order to learn the German language, culture, lifestyle and diet. Their accommodation was arranged by a few German families. Children of those families are visiting Wayanad this time as part of the programme. The cultural exchange programme intends to let the children experience a different culture beyond language and dresses.
The school PTA, teachers, students and their parents are all set to welcome the foreign students. The German students will be received in the school assembly on 30th. The school will also host a reception programme and arts fest on November 3.
