Meet Joseph James, MBA qualified coconut seller
Alappuzha: Kalarcode native Joseph A James is an MBA holder and was working in a company abroad. Later, he came back to his place and started a courier service. By the time, COVID outbreak occurred and he became jobless. As he has a family consisting of wife and children, the 31-year-old put aside his qualification and experiences and decided to sell coconuts.
His idea of delivering coconut at the households of buyers was widely accepted. He also set up an online facility for the same. He delivered coconut with or without husk as per demand. Also pure coconut oil from processing dry copra was sold. Gradually, demand for coconut and oil increased and the sales improved, Joseph said.
Now, Joseph gets a decent income to survive. He also sells black pepper, tamarind and Malabar tamarind besides coconut. His wife Reshma helps him manage the sales through online platforms. The man has proved hardships are to be dealt with bravely, not to give in easily.
