Mathrubhumi ‘Ente Edakkad’ project bags CSR Times Award
New Delhi: ‘Ente Edakkad’ project implemented by Mathrubhumi in association with Air India Express has bagged CSR Times Award. Club FM programme head Mayura Shreyams Kumar received the award from Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy.
The project is being implemented at Edakkad ward in Kozhikode. ‘Ente Edakkad’ project aims to convert the place as zero pollution zone. Under the project, suitable facilities for proper waste management was arranged at every household with the help of bio-technicians and project co-ordinators. ‘Suchikoottam’ group which includes members from 2000 houses in Edakkad has been carrying out awareness programmes to check pollution.
Rajya Sabha member and Mathrubhumi Managing Director MP Veerendra Kumar and National Commission for Women chairperson Rekha Sharma addressed the gathering at the event.
Indraprastha Gas Ltd, Steel Authority of India, National Aluminium Company (NALCO), Oil India and Coromandel International also won the award for corporate social responsibility.
AICTE chairman Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe and Caresoft Global CEO Mathew Vachaparambil also received the award.
