Mahal committee postpones Nabi Dinam celebrations for marriage of Hindu couple
Perambra: Before leaving to her husband's house from Paleri, Prathyusha had something else to do. She has to meet the Mahal committee members at Idivetti Juma Masjid to express her gratitude for postponing Sunday’s Milad Nabi celebrations for her marriage.
Prathyusha, daughter of Narayanan Nambiar and Indira, was married to Vinu Prasad on Sunday. Her house was very close to the mosque.
Foreseeing inconvenience if they organise the celebrations on the marriage day, the Mahal committee convened a meeting under the leadership of President Idivetti Moiduhaji and decided to postpone the celebration the next Sunday. Members of the Mahal committee actively participated on the eve of the wedding day and on the wedding ceremony.
“The Mahal Committee, which has always been committed to maintain communal harmony and mutual cooperation, has taken this unanimous decision,” said N C Abdurahiman, secretary and Changaroth LP school teacher.
DCC Secretary E.V. Ramachandran and CPI leader K.K Bhaskar accompanied the married couple on their way to the mosque to meet the committee members. Mahal Committee vice president Naduvila Kandy Soopi, Joint Secretary PK Gafoor and committee members O T Basheer and Tharamal Soopi were also present at the ceremony.
