Little Anushka to come back to life as social media finds ‘P null’ blood donor
Kochi: Finally, 5-year-old girl Anushka with a rare blood group called ‘ P Null’ got a blood donor for her surgery. Anushka who suffered a severe head injury after falling from a building is currently under treatment at Amritha hospital. As she is having a rare blood group, the hospital and her family were worried about arranging blood for her second surgery. Finally, Facebook page of Blood Donors Kerala helped to find ‘P Null’ blood donor from Nasik in Maharashtra.
The blood was collected and taken to Kochi by flight. It is reported that the surgery will be carried out after examining the child’ health condition.
Many people joined hands through social media for finding ‘P Null’ blood donor for Anushka. On July 5, Blood Donors Kerala Facebook page shared a post seeking ‘P Null’ blood for the girl. As the post was shared widely, a Nasik native expressed his desire to donate blood.
He immediately reached a hospital in Mumbai and donated blood to save the Kerala girl. The blood was immediately taken by flight to Nedumbassery airport and later taken to Amrita hospital.
Anushka, daughter of Malappuram native Santhosh, is settled in Gujarat. She met with an accident in Gujarat an year ago. Though she had undergone surgery for her head injuries, she suffered infection. Following this, her parents took her to Kochi Amrita hospital for expert medical care.
The other day, the first phase of her surgery was carried out. The child’s blood was collected for this surgery. The next phase is the surgery of her skull.
