Kudumbashree introduces home delivery to help during lockdown
Kannur: While the state is experiencing a lockdown to prevent the community spreading of the coronavirus, Kudumbashree has introduced a scheme to deliver essential items including food to households or offices.
The meeting convened on Tuesday to assess the coronavirus preventive measures decided to implement the Kudumbashree scheme 'Home Shree' home delivery from Wednesday onwards.
The home delivery scheme is initiated in order to prevent people from going out to purchase essentials. People only need to give their order through local body representatives or ward level ADS (Area Development Society) members to get the home delivery. All facilities have been arranged in panchayat level for this purpose.
Home delivery will be completed through establishments like Kudumbashree hotels. Food will be prepared at Kudumbashree hotels or canteens and will be delivered to households, offices and other places.
