KSRTC conductor becomes `god' for biomedical student
“I could see real gods at the Ranni KSRTC centre. Thank you so much” said Sandra Sivaraman, a native of Anthikkad and a final year biomedical student of Vechoochira Polytechnic College, Adoor, in her social media. KSRTC conductor Satheesh Kumar and his colleagues were described by Sandra as equivalent to god. This is because Satheesh took effort to drop her at the college on time by bike when she had no other way to reach college for the final year examination.
“I just helped the worried girl who was crying” responded Angamuzhi Kidangil Satheesh Kumar, conductor of the Perunthenaruvi bus. But it was a great help for Sandra because if she had failed to write the exam it could have changed her life. After seeing her social media post, Satheesh is flooded with appreciation.
Sandra came to write her exam last Thursday. Buses were very less due to the lockdown. It was 1 o'clock when she reached Ranni as the bus had to take a different route due to road construction works. But the exam is scheduled for 2 pm. Only KSRTC buses commute from Ranni to Vechoochira. The next bus will leave at 3.10 pm only. She was disappointed and decided to return.
When she cried, many people suggested ideas that were impossible. Suddenly the station in-charge Mohan Kumar asked the KSRTC drivers and conductors if they could drop her by bike. Satheesh was on leave but immediately came and dropped Sandra on time at the college, about 18 km away.
Before running to the examination hall, Sandra took Satheesh's photo and phone number. As soon as she finished the exam, she thanked him over phone. The driver realised only later that the name of his daughter and the girl was Sandra.
