Mala: Krishna, the 16-year-old girl, made headlines when a video featured her riding on horseback to school to appear for 10 class examinations. Now, Krishna is all set to attend coaching in horse riding for a jockey license and take part in horse race.
She will join classes on April 28 at Race Horse Academy in Mysuru. The academy will grant license to the trainees after five months training. If Krishna succeeds in the training session, she will be the first lady jockey from Kerala.
Though the academy charges lakhs of rupees for the training, Krishna got free admission here. The trainer in the academy offered free coaching to her as she turned a star in social media with her ride on horseback to school.
Though the coaching was offered free of cost, Krishna should arrange her food, accommodation and uniform by herself. When she was puzzled over this, excise commissioner Rishiraj Singh visited her on Thursday at her residence. When Krishna informed him about the training and the issues surrounding it, he assured her accommodation and uniform to attend the training session.
Krishna became passionate about horses when she was studying in 7th standard. Ajay Kalindi and Indu, parents of Krishna, supported her passion. Later, they gifted two horses at two different times to Krishna. When she got training in horse riding, she started to ride horse by herself within two years.
Krishna, a class 10 student at Holy Grace Academy, took an adventurous ride on horseback to appear for the last examination of 10th standard. Somebody captured the video of her ride and shared it on social media.
Krishna used to travel on horseback to purchase grocery from stores since last one year.
