Kozhikode: The food counter at district jail here will resume the sale of biriyani, chilli chicken and chicken curry. The sale of new items by Freedom association was inaugurated by north zone DIG MK Vinod.
Biriyani is priced at Rs 65, Chilli chicken at Rs 60 and chicken curry at Rs 25.
Chappati, egg curry and vegetable curry are also available through these counters. The food is prepared by the inmates of the jail.
Though biriyani was sold earlier, it was withdrawn.
Apart from food items, masks, sanitizers, umbrella, phenol and hand wash are also available at these stalls.
The inauguration was presided by district jail superintendent KV Jagadeesan, regional welfare officer KV Mukesh, special officer KV Baiju, welfare officers T Rajesh Kumar and Radhakrishnan also attended the event.
