KC Venugopal intervenes; family stranded in Kudagu amid lockdown returns home
Vallikunnam: A family from here, trapped at Kudagu in Karnataka amid the lockdown, returned home after 3.5 months after AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal MP intervened in the matter.
Vallikunnam Kannimel native Mini, children Sonu Prabhakar, Allu, relatives Sajith and Ajith arrived home the other day.
The family went to Kudagu on March 10, in connection with the education of Sonu, a nursing student at the Coorg City Nursing College. Though they tried to return before lockdown, the filling of mud on the Kattikulam checkpost road by Karnataka made it impossible. Soon lockdown followed.
They then rented a room and had been staying there. Though train services began partially after the easing of lockdown, they had no means to reach Bengaluru to board the train.
Many people were contacted for help but in vain. Later local leaders brought the matter to the attention of AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal MP. Following this a vehicle was arranged free of cost to take them home.
