Innocent donates annual MP pension of Rs 3 lakh to CMDRF
Actor and former MP Innocent has donated one year's MP pension of Rs 3 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). On Tuesday, he handed over the cheque for Rs 3 lakh to Thrissur district Collector S Shanavas at the collectorate here.
Innocent took to Facebook encouraging others to make donations to the CMDRF.
“I don’t want to boast about my donations. But if anyone gets inspired by me, it will help Kerala. At the same time, I also wish to counter the hate campaign against the CMDRF,” Innocent wrote on his Facebook page.
As a former MP, Innocent receives Rs 25,000 as monthly pension. He has donated his pension of a whole year to CMDRF.
While serving as a Lok Sabha MP, Innocent had donated his salary of 6 months to the CMDRF in two installments, when Okhi cyclone and floods battered Kerala.
He pointed out that Keralites should remember CMDRF is efficiently handled and everyone is its beneficiary.
MLA KV Abdul Khader also accompanied Innocent at the collectorate.
