Idukki peanut seller wins lottery worth Rs 60 lakh
Iritty: A peanut seller in Iritty has won the state Nirmal lottery worth Rs 60 lakh. P V Shameer, a native of Kooranmukku here is a vendor who sells fried peanuts in Iritty town. He won the prize on a ticket bought from his neighbouring shop.
Shameer recently had completed the works of his house taking a loan of Rs 15 lakh. The ticket that won the prize was bought from lottery agent Viswan, his friend and the neighbouring vegetable shop owner.
Shameer had been taking lottery tickets for the past 12 years. When he phoned Viswan, he kept aside three tickets for Shameer. Viswan had kept the tickets with him and when the results were announced, he phoned Shameer and said “first prize is for a ticket kept for you”.
Shameer’s wife Shareefa and children Shamil, Irfan and Farhad are happy with the luck that graced their family.
Shameer is planning to pay back the loan and invest the rest of the prize money in his children’s education.
