Thiruvananthapuram: Health minister K K Shailaja wrote on Facebook that the government will take over the treatment of Shyam Kumar, a young amputee who actively rendered his service at flood relief materials collection centre in Thiruvananthapuram.
‘Mathrbhumi Nagaram’ had carried a detailed story on Shyam Kumar on Thursday. Before that, minister Thomas Isaac had written the story of Shyam Kumar on his Facebook wall - about his kidney related ailments and the treatments in the Thiruvananthapuram medical college.
After contacting the doctors of Shyam Kumar, the health minister wrote on the social media that ‘Shyam Kumar is a young, vibrant person with positive attitude towards life. I haven’t seen a patient with such an attitude. So, I have directed the hospital authorities to carry out all his treatment free of cost. In case, any surgery is needed, government will bear the expense’.
She concluded the post with best wishes to Shyam Kumar.
