Governor honours migrant worker who rescued 2 men from tidal waves in Vizhinjam
Vizhinjam: A migrant worker who rescued two Poonthura native fishermen from sea was honoured by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. Subrado Biswas was the hero who saved two men from high tides.
The governor invited Subrado to Raj Bhavan on knowing about the incident and presented him with a gift. Subrado's employer Ambros also accompanied him to Raj Bhavan. The Governor appreciated Subrado saying he was an icon of compassion.
Poonthura natives Napoleon and Thomas were washed away in the high tides at Vizhinjam harbour on Tuesday night. Subrado was present at the harbour during that time and he ventured into the sea on his boat. He managed to rescue both of them.
As Subrado made headlines with his bravery, Governor noticed the reports and invited him to Raj Bhavan and honoured him. Meanwhile, CPM district committee also honoured Subrado. District Secretary Anavoor Nagappan handed him a present and cash award.
