Finally, Thai cats Snowball, Tessa and Kittu return home
Alappuzha: Everyone will love Snowball, Tessa and their son Kittu, the three cute cats which belong to a breed from Thailand. Muhammad Rasheed and family were devastated when the three cats went missing.
Snowball and Tessa are the pet cats of Rasheed, a native of Thondankulangara. The two cats crossed all procedures of immigration which is usually carried out for people. It was 8 years back, Snowball and Tessa reached Alappuzha. Rasheed took these cute cats from Thailand as a gift to his children.
Now, snowball and Tessa have two kittens, two-year-old male cat named Kittu and a four-month-old kitten.
On June 13, the three cats namely Snowball, Tessa and Kittu went missing from Rasheed’s house. Some unidentified men broke into the cat’s cage and stole the three cats on June 13 around 2 am. The CCTV in the neighbouring house recorded the visuals of the robbers who took the three cats in a sack.
As it was raining, the robbers took an umbrella from Rasheed’s house. The visuals featured the masked men walking with the stolen cats from the house.
Police nabbed the culprits after recovering the CCTV visuals. Finally, the Thai cats got reunited with Rasheed’s family.
Speciality of the Thai cats
“They only eat a special packet food named royal canon with water. Rs 8,000 is spent on the food of the three cats per month. As this food is rich in nutrients, there is no need to serve other food items to them,” Rasheed described the food menu of the foreign cats.
The Thai cats need a bath thrice every month.
“Though raring the Thai cats is a tough task, cats belonging to this breed are very loyal,” added Rasheed.
Rasheed who is an expat visited many countries as part of his job. He purchased Snowball and Tessa from Thailand. He took the two cats to Kerala after completing all formalities including passport and medical test for it.
At present, Snowball and Tessa are 10-years-old.
“We sell the breed if anyone approaches us. We used to avoid vendors. A cat of the Thai breed costs Rs 50,000.
