Palakkad: Alan and his mother who has been spending their nights in trains and railway stations have finally got a proper shelter. Now, they can sleep without waiting for trains and hiding from railway protection force.
After six years of long struggle, this mother and son got a shelter after Mathrubhumi published their news on Monday.
This time, Alan did not rush to railway station after school. Holding his mother’s hand, he entered into the house arranged for them.
Kalyan Jewellery Group and social worker Sainuddin Pathirippala have taken leadership to find a rented house ‘Sreelakshmibhavanam’ at Nagarippuram for them.
Alan was excited after seeing the house with a beautiful garden. It was a dream come true moment for the family who were struggling to have a safe place, just to sleep well.
Meanwhile, Kalyan jewellers group chairman and managing director T S Kalyanaraman also offered a new house to the family. After finding the news, Kalyan group offered all support to meet the expense of Alan’s education and took initiative to find a temporary house for them.
District Child Protection Officer K Aanandan, representatives of district judge, Kalyan Jewellers representatives and Mathrubhumi Unit Manager S Amal Raj were present on the occasion.
Kerala Legal Services Authority and District Judge KT Indira also intervened in the issue and met Alan and his mother. Representatives from District Child Protection Unit, Police, Red Cross and Social Justice Department accompanied them.
Many people and voluntary organisations in India and abroad contacted Mathrubhumi and Alan’s school MM School at Puthupariyaram after reading the news. With the help of some good people, this son and mother are expecting to have a peaceful life.
A bank account has been opened in the name of Alan's mother Sabeena in the Palakkad branch of Federal Bank.
