Entire neighbourhood in Anthikkad joins hands to save a street dog
Anthikad: “Wouldn’t we have done the same if this was a human? Isn’t the value of life the same whether it is a dog or a human? We have to save Jugru somehow," said the children while taking the injured dog inside an ambulance. The dog suffered a cut on its neck and was in critical condition.
Three-year-old Jugru is very much dear to the 10 households located near an Anganvadi in Anthikkad. Although a street dog, Jugru was a regular presence in all these houses. However, Jugru was found injured with a cut on its neck the other day.
The injured dog was given first aid by students including Amritha, Aswathy, Sreelekshmi, Varsha, Kiran, MS Avanthika along with Kallayil Ravi, Krishnankutty and Ashokan Peechedathu. They also informed the paws Animal Welfare board and made arrangements for the dog to be taken to Kokkala Veterinary hospital.
The entire locality joined hands to save the life of the street dog. They are preparing to file a complaint with Anthikkad police against the anti-social people who injured their Jugru.
