Engineering student from Kozhikode sets national record on pencil carvings

He became a record holder after carving the names of all the Indian states and its capitals on pencil tips.

Pencil carvings by Adarsh

Kozhikode: Engineering student and Ramanattukara native Adarsh has found himself a spot in India Book of Records for his pencil tip art.

He became a record holder after carving the names of all the Indian states and its capitals on pencil tips. He spent 13 hours and 53 minutes to complete the work. Adarsh’s name will be listed in the Book of Records that will be released in 2021.

Adarsh was attracted to the world of pencil carvings when he saw an image in the WhatsApp status of one of his friends. Today, it has also become Adarsh’s source of income. He says that most of his customers are from outside the state. Adarsh sells his works through his Instagram account.

Adarsh is a third year electronics and communication student at Kozhikode Engineering College. He is the son of Vazhayil Baburaj and Praseeja.
