CM gifts laptop to 8th standard boy in Kozhikode
Kozhikode: Jazeel Aboobacker, an eighth standard student of Narikkuni Govt. Higher Secondary School is on cloud nine after receiving a laptop as gift from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He is the second son of Punnassery native Raheem and Sajna.
The Chief Minister gifted the laptop to the boy after receiving an email from him. In the email, Jazeel requested for a mobile phone to attend his online classes.
Jazeel has two brothers Jazir Rahman, a 3rd standard student and Jazli Rahman, a plus one student.
As the siblings are having online classes, they used to quarrel over the only mobile phone in their house. Disappointed with the frequent quarrels, Jazeel decided to seek help from the Chief Minister.
One day, he searched for Chief Minister's email ID on Google and submitted a request seeking a mobile phone for his studies.
“Within three days, he received a call from the Chief Minister’s office asking for his address. After receiving the call, Jazeel became upset fearing if police would reach his house any time. Later, he informed us and we forwarded our address to the office," said Jazeel’s father Rahim who runs a shop in Kozhikode.
On Friday, Chief Minister's Personal Assistant, who was on way to Thiruvananthapuram from Kannur, visited Jazeel and handed over the laptop to him. He also advised the boy to study well.
“After receiving the laptop from CM, he started to wake up early,” said his mother Sajna. Jazeel was a topper in USS scholarship exam 2019-20 at Punnassery AMUP School.
The family also expressed happiness in receiving the laptop from the Chief Minister.
