Alur: Sana, a seventh standard student of Alur Rajarshi Memorial School gifted her pet lamb ‘Manikkutty’ to Lakshmi, Sana’s classmate and best friend. Sana’s gift was an expression of love and care for her friend who witnessed a loss in the 2018 and 2019 floods that hit the state.
Receiving the lamb, Lakshmi said that she would look after Manikkutty with utmost care.
Sana and Lakshmi have been classmates since fifth standard. Both are ‘Seed’ unit members of the school and are active in all social service initiatives in the school.
Shaji, father of Sana, who has a goat farm had lost much of his livestock in the 2018 floods. The goats couldn’t survive the cold that followed the flood. However, Shaji stood by his daughter’s wish to gift the lamb, although Shaji was gradually beginning to overcome his loss from last year.
Babu, father of Lakshmi is also happy to receive the gift given by his daughter’s friend. In the flood, Babu’s house was inundated and the family faced huge loss.
