Chennithala celebrates New Year with adivasis in Edamalakkudy
Munnar: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala celebrated new year with adivasis at Edamalakkudy, the first tribal grama panchayat of Kerala. On Wednesday around 1 pm, Chennithala arrived at Society Kudi, one of the highly populated tribal hamlet here. Adivasis arranged a warm welcome for him in traditional manner.
The opposition leader found time to interact with the people and posed for selfies with them. He also promised that he will resolve their problems after holding talks with the ministers.
MP Dean Kuriakose who accompanied Chennithala informed the people that he sanctioned Rs 66 lakh from his fund to construct a school at Edamalakkudy.
He won hearts of old aged and children alike. He also had lunch with the people at the panchayat headquartered here.
Chennithala distributed sweets and greeted happy new year to all before leaving Edamalakkudy.
New Year gift to Ganapathy
Surprising Ganapathy (18) son of Kanakaraj at Edamalakkudy, Chennithala gifted a laptop to him. Ganapathy who was studying Computer hardWare course at Painavu Polytechnic college was forced to quit his studies after he did not possess a laptop. When Chennithala came to know about this, he promised Kanakaraj that he will purchase a new laptop for his son. As directed by the opposition leader, Ganapathy reached at Munnat Guest house and received the laptop on Wednesday evening.
