Changanassery municipality gets first wayside rest house for women in Kerala
Changanassery: Changanassery municipality gets the first roadside ladies rest house of the State Women’s Development Corporation. It is a new women friendly project initiated by the corporation.
In the Rs 50 lakh estimated project, multiple facilities are incorporated in the rest house.
Many municipalities had submitted application to the Women’s Development Corporation for the ladies rest house project. Among this, Changanassery’s project report and suggestions were approved by the expert committee appointed by the government.
The Women’s Development Corporation found location for the rest room at a land acquired for international stadium in Changanassery. It is a 15 cent land at Layikkad on the Changanassery bypass road. The foundation stone for the project will be laid next week and is expected to be completed before March. Parking area will also be set up alongside the rest house.
Facilities incorporated in the project plan foresee the developments expected as part of proposed international stadium. The rest house will have toilets, cafeteria, snacks park, napkin incinerator and feeding room. All rooms will be air conditioned.
Staff of the rest house will be employed under State Women’s Development Corporation.
