Bidding farewell to daily wage works, Irshad to enroll as doctor next year
Kalikavu (Malappuram): Irshad was adamant about giving a fitting reply to all those who ridiculed his father, a daily wage labourer, for dreaming to make his son a doctor. A final year student of BAMS at Vishnu College in Shoranur, Irshad finds the money for his studies by doing manual labours.
Irshad is the eldest of four children of Kalikavu native Abdul Asees and Khairunnisa. His father requested financial help from many people for Irshad's studies. But they asked him if he could make him choose some less expensive courses. Irshad completed Plus Two along with working as ice seller and worker.
When he realised that the meager income is insufficient for medical entrance and college fees, he started working as construction worker which offers better wage. As he is fully dedicated in both studies and work, he gets special consideration at worksite. He manages to work in hotels, construction sites, cement block making and all possible areas during leisure time.
Through hard work, Irshad managed to complete his studies without causing any liability to his family. He utilized the free time during lockdown for earning through work. He is only an year away from his dream of becoming a doctor.
