Battling with diseases, this Thrissur man writes 30 books
Thrissur: Retired Major George Maliyekkal, a 75-year-old man, used to counter his diseases with different hobbies. It was 13 years ago, he first embraced writing as a hobby to deal with the stress after getting diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This disease made him a multi-lingual writer.
From personality development books in Malayalam to detective novels in English, George has written 30 books in his life. All these books are available as printed and digital versions.
When he started to loss the sight of one eye following Parkinson’s disease, he started to explore photography. He captured each moment of a bird’s life from the mother bird’s nest-making to the little bird’s first flight on the sky. He published many photo-journals by attaching his research studies along with the photos.
He challenged his blood pressure variations by painting beautiful pictures. So far he has completed over 100 paintings. To deal with diseases which affected his muscles, he opted farming on terrace. Without any failure, he used to provide proper care to the vegetables in this small farm.

He also manages two YouTube channels. Over 1.78 crore people have watched these channels. Apart from the preparation of content for the videos, he has been doing related works including sound mixing and video editting.
He also owns four websites on different subjects. With one of these websites, he has been selling coins and stamps from his huge collections. He has a collection of coins from 165 countries and stamps from over 145 countries.
