Arya overcomes physical disabilities to join government service
Cherthala: Arya did not give up on her dream even when she was repeatedly told that she would not be able to keep up with the pace of PSC tests. However, she managed to overcome all challenges and received an offer letter to join the Municipal Common Service as a clerk the other day.
35-year-old Arya is the youngest daughter of Thanneermukkom village panchayat natives Dr. Surendrankutty Kartha and Sathi.
She became physically challenged at an early age. Her body became weak when she completed her graduation. Even though Arya is 35-years-old, her body is that of a 12-year-old. She attended college till her graduation. Later she completed MCA.
Although she appeared for PSC Exams after college, she was rejected for not being quick enough. However, Arya tasted success by overcoming all challenges through sheer hard work. She wrote the PSC exam as a general category candidate. Panchayat president P. S. Jyothis came to Arya's house and felicitated her by presenting a shawl. He said that the panchayat would request the government to post her in Cherthala itself.
Permanent committee member Binitha Manoj, CDS Chairperson Sreeja Shibu , K. N. Pushpakaran, D. Babu and Prema Aji were also present.
